Happy International Women's Day!

As we celebrate all the strong and amazing women in the world, we take the opportunity to take the spotlight on our own team at Inika.
Being a female-founded and mostly female-staffed company, we had a conversation with our beloved team members, who share their experience working in a female-powered environment.
Read on as we also share with you our staff’s favorite products, hoping we can at the same time continue to inspire you to make healthier choices!

Nicole – Founder, Brand & Strategy

It is a great privilege to work with women, we complement each other and always bring each other up. I think it’s important to stress the fact that personality is more important than gender though. What makes me happy every day when I walk into the office is the positive energy and sisterhood we share with understanding how it is to be a mother, sister, wife - we all share experiences and are open and understanding towards one another.

My absolute favorite Inika product is the Peanut Chocolate bar, and for a perfect in-between meal I would have it with a Sunny Salutation smoothie. That keeps me going and feeling nourished for a few hours!

Gabbie – Founder & Operations

I am very passionate about women supporting one another when it comes to work and career. I believe we are not always as good as the men are in doing just that. So being in this women-dominated environment, where we truly see each other, support each other and lift each other feels both important and inspiring. Then we would surely welcome men into the team too!

I love Berry Blush because it’s so fruity and delicious and I also love to add it to my smoothies, where I blend in some fresh fruit too.

Gabbie – Founder & Operations

Since women are our main target group, it feels right that Inika Superfoods consists of women. We are all of us “Inikans” and strive for balance in existence and have a desire for clean and nutritious food. The amazing products that we develop are the ones we ourselves love and have looked for.

My favorite Inika product is the Blueberry Forest plantshake, since it is perfect to mix in my daily overnight oats.

Edith – Sourcing

Our office has mostly women and maybe that’s one of the reasons for the Inikan work-atmosphere of inclusion and warmth that I really appreciate. Another reason is probably that we all share a common interest for holistic health and we get to develop products that we wish for!I love love love the Coconut bar.

I also love adding the Glorious Greens to my green smoothies (always banana, frozen spinach, frozen kale, oat drink and Glorious Greens).

I take pride in working for a company that is founded and led by women. Our workdays are characterized by high productivity, creative fun, and effective communication. The company's positive energy is undoubtedly a result of the exceptional products that we pour our passion, knowledge, and love into, in order to provide customers with products that we all adore.

From day one I felt a sense of community I have never experienced in any other workplace, we all have a holistic approach to life, celebrate our strengths, and uplifting each other. Empowered women empower women - and I'm so proud to be part of it!

My favorite product changes all the time, but at the moment Hazelnut Chocolate has been my go-to bar, and Blueberry Forest for my mornings either alone or mixed with coconut milk and fresh berries. I love that it has reishi and it gives me a nice boost!

Our two female Founders’ values are able to shine through both in the ways we work as a team, but also in the way our brand cares about our customers! And that is deeply fulfilling.

The divine flavour of a Berry Blush plantshake with soy milk every morning has kept me obsessed with it for the last thirteen plus months!

I love how it balances between sweet, fresh and tangy and can both be made with water or plant milk or mixed into an even richer smoothie with a little peanut butter added. But the Hazelnut Chocolate bar is quite addictive too.

More than a diet

Veganism is one of the fastest growing lifestyle movements, and more people are adopting vegan diets and practicing a cruelty-free lifestyle every month. And while many people think veganism is a diet, it can be so much more than that.

Veganism is an attitude toward life and living that seeks to exclude, as far as possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose. It means living in harmony with the world around you and treating animals with compassion and respect. It's not just about giving up animal products, but also about giving up the idea that animals matter in any way at all.
