5 Outdoor Activities to Refresh Your Mind and Body

The weather is finally warming up and it feels fantastic after having been cocooned up inside all winter. As the snow starts to melt away and the flowers start to bloom, it is time to head outside for some fun springtime activities - either by yourself or with friends and family.

Hiking

Spring is the perfect time to tie up your hiking boots and head outside. There are so many beautiful tracks that vary in difficulty and length, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker there’s a hike for you.

Hiking has a myriad of benefits that you will love. For instance hiking has been proven to reduce anxiety by quieting the mind and allowing you to zone in on your breathing - at this point hiking becomes almost meditative. Honestly, hiking is a natural stress relief and an instant mood booster.

Hiking also gives you a renewed appreciation for mother nature. When hiking you realise just how utterly amazing nature is, and why it is so important that we protect and care for our beautiful earth. Hiking and being in nature is also a wonderful way to recharge and reconnect with yourself - or with friends and family if you are hiking with others.

Always remember to bring plenty of water and some snacks with you when hiking. All of our bars are the perfect snack to bring with you. They will give you that little energy boost you need without leaving you feeling too full - exactly what you want when hiking.

Go for a bike ride

Is there anything as lovely as going for a bike ride? Whether it’s around your city or in nature, a bike ride is simply delightful. Instead of strolling around town (which can also be such a lovely way to spend an afternoon), why not bike around town? Or perhaps jump on your bike and ride down to the beach, a lake or another nature spot close to you. Enjoy the sunshine on your face, the wind in your hair and the crisp spring air.

Go for a dip in the ocean or a lake

If you are feeling a little brave, take the first dip of the year. It might still be a little chilly(especially, if you’re up in Scandinavia), but it will feel absolutely amazing. Water is cleansing, both spiritually, mentally, physically and energetically, and it is an instant mood booster. There is also something about being in the ocean or a lake that just brings you back to the present moment and makes you appreciate Mama Gaia’s immense beauty and how healing she truly is.

Go camping

If you really want to immerse yourself in nature and fully recharge and disconnect, campingis the perfect outdoor spring activity. Go away with a friend, your partner or a family member for a day or two and just enjoy the fresh air and nature. You can either pick a camping ground or go freedom camping (where it’s permitted). Cook your own delicious food, go for walks in nature and enjoy the company of your loved one.

Go flower picking

What can possibly be more delightful and romantic than picking flowers? Many farmers have started to allow visitors to pick flowers on their fields for free - usually you’ll find a sign that encourages you to pick a beautiful bouquet of colourful flowers. You can also go picking wildflowers in nature. No matter what, we are sure you will come home with the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers that will bring you lots of joy.
